Our founder, a veteran who served this country with pride, saw something missing in San Diego's South Bay food scene. Sure, you could find African food. Caribbean food existed. Puerto Rican spots popped up here and there. But they were scattered. Separate. Islands unto themselves.

The Caribe changed that.

We opened our doors with a bold premise: that Nigerian spices could share kitchen space with Jamaican scotch bonnets and Puerto Rican sofrito without diluting any of them.
